Why Why

We came at around 1PM. Plenty of seatings. You can choose the fresh sashimi from the front counter. My friend ordered a sashimi platter, a ramen, a don & a dry noodles. Simple lunch but delicious. Ingredients are fresh. Good place for lunch which can talk comfortably within yelling to each other if you get what I mean especially an eatery in the mall . We enjoy this catch up lunch meeting with fantastic meal.

Had a fantastic meal at Fish Mart Sakuraya. The mackerel was incredibly delicious and impressively large, perfectly grilled with rich flavour. The don was tasty and comforting, while the soba was smooth, refreshing, and well prepared. We finished with their crepe cake, which was light, creamy, and surprisingly good. Overall, a consistently solid spot for fresh, quality Japanese food that never disappoints.

sashimi bowl is a fresh, vibrant delight. The salmon and tuna are buttery and rich, paired with bursts of sweet ikura and luxuriously creamy uni. Daily-sourced seafood shines atop perfectly seasoned rice. Generous portions, Instagram-worthy presentation, and friendly service (arrive early for lunch!). A must-try for sashimi lovers—worth every penny. Pro tip: Ask for less rice to let the fish take center.

October 2025: food was so so. Portion size was small for the price paid. However the dishes were fresh. I liked the octopus cubes side dish! Really fresh and tasty. Nov 2025: re visit to give it another chance. This will be the last. The tempura batter was flat as though the wrong flour was used. Not flaky at all. More like normal flour. V disappointing

Fish Mart Sakuraya – AnchorPoint: A Hidden Gem for Japanese Cuisine Lovers If you’re looking for a place that serves authentic Japanese food with heart and soul, Fish Mart Sakuraya at AnchorPoint is it. From the moment we stepped in, Alan and his excellent team – Sharon, both Eileens, and the dedicated part-time staff – made us feel genuinely welcome. Their service was outstanding, showing initiative at every step. Orders were taken using a smart mix of electronic and manual systems, ensuring nothing was missed and everything came out exactly as we wanted. The food? Absolutely top-notch. I especially loved the sashimi – super fresh, beautifully sliced, and with a great range to choose from. Every dish we tried was well-prepared, full of flavour, and served in generous portions, giving real value for money (something hard to find these days). Whether it was the sashimi, grilled items, or comforting hot dishes, everything hit the mark. And then there’s the drinks menu – the selection of sake and Japanese whisky was simply overwhelming, in the best way possible. Whether you’re a seasoned connoisseur or just curious, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Alan’s team was also knowledgeable enough to guide pairings, which made the whole dining experience even better. It’s rare to find a place that gets both the food and service so right, but Alan and his team at Fish Mart Sakuraya AnchorPoint have nailed it. This is definitely a spot worth returning to – and one to share with friends who appreciate good Japanese food and exceptional hospitality.

Shipping Matters

I had a great dining experience at Fish Mart Sakuraya yesterday 22nd September 2025, and I’d like to commend Eileen Chook for her excellent service. Although she was working as the cashier, she also doubled up as a waitress and managed both roles seamlessly. Even though we placed our order electronically, Eileen ensured that the food was served promptly without any delay. She was attentive, efficient, and always carried a friendly smile while balancing multiple responsibilities. Her professionalism and genuine care really enhanced our visit. Thank you, Eileen, for making our dining experience so enjoyable!

A very cute cold soba dish, perfect for hot weather! They use star fruit instead of lemon, which is a nice, refreshing twist. P.S. Since it’s located in a fish market, expect a noticeable fishy smell throughout.
